Neowin.net - Major Book Publishers Sue Google:

Patricia Schroeder, AAP president and a former Colorado congresswoman, said the suit was filed after talks broke down. The AAP had proposed that use each book’s unique ID number to determine if the work is under copyright, and then seek permission from the book’s owner. For more than 30 years, most books have carried an ISBN identification number, which is machine readable.

, according to Schroeder, refused.

“If can scan every book in the English language, surely they can utilize ISBNs,” Schroeder said in a statement. “By rejecting the reasonable ISBN solution, left our members no choice but to file this suit.”

This is the first time I’ve seen the info that the trusty ISBN number has moved to the center of the dispute.

Shugarius-the-Wanderer: Follow Me To Get Lost in Good Company:

No one knows exactly when will release his sequel to The Da Vinci Code, but I will say my hunch, at this moment in time, is February 2006.

My guess is that this is way too early. We just haven’t heard nearly enough pre-buzz from the publisher. My guess is more like August 2006 or 2007.

Well worth checking out Shugart’s blog, though. He’s well informed.

Scout.com: Horton Enters Senior Season With Heavy Heart:

Daniel Horton missed most of last season after injury and an off the court issue forced him to the sideline. As difficult as being away from the game and team was, it wasn’t nearly as hard as dealing with a personal tragedy that has changed his life forever.

Reading the intro, one would never know that the “tragedy” is that Horton was arrested for domestic violence…
