People seem to have extremely strong personal thoughts on Misquoting Jesus and its views, noticeably seen in the emotionally-charged words hitting the internet.
In contrast with the negative (and sometimes, personally-targeted) comments, I've had some major positive feedback as well. Many Christian readers have noted how it has helped provide a tool to back up their concerns regarding Ehrman's approach to the New Testament. Of greatest impact to me, I've appreciated comments from academic-level readers who have noted my approach as conservative, yet very diplomatic in respect to differing opinions.

A self-organizing network model of the Mideast showing both attracting and repelling forces between various players. Nodes connected with links show positive relationships (friends). Negative relationships (enemies) have no links, but a repelling force pushes the nodes apart.

You can interact with the maps by dragging the nodes around the screen when they are either stopped or moving. Use right mouse-click on nodes to show and hide aspects of the networks.

Below we see another map of the Mideast. This reflects the geographic connections in the region — two countries are connected if they share a border. When comparing the two maps, can we see Israel’s predicament?

If you drag Russia around, it keeps winding up in the middle.

SEATTLE — Microsoft said on Friday it plans to release a new music and entertainment player and accompanying software under the “Zune” brand this year, in a belated attempt to challenge the dominance of Apple Computer’s iPod player.

Microsoft confirmed the plans for an entertainment device and software in a statement after touting those products to record companies in recent months.

The world’s largest software maker faces an uphill climb in closing the gap on Apple’s iPod media player and iTunes Music Store, the runaway leaders in their respective areas.

The iPod holds more than half of the digital media player market, according to research company NPD, while iTunes accounts for over 70 percent of U.S. digital music sales.
