Spending Outlays Cut Amazon Earnings; Media Sales Up 15% - 7/26/2006 - Publishers Weekly
Total media sales rose 16% at Amazon in the second quarter ended June 30, to $1.45 billion. North American media sales rose 15%, to $730 million and international media sales increased 17%, to $718 million
From my parochial point of view, this is a solid quarter. The size of my revenue opportunity is pretty close to directly proportional to the size of Amazon.com’s U.S. book sales. My pie got 15% bigger in 2Q2006.
