Mormons in favor of MISQUOTING JESUS?

Dave’s Mormon Inquiry: Misquoting Jesus

Any Mormon who has an Evangelical every-word-of-the-Bible-is-true neighbor or work colleague who gives them a hard time about the Book of Mormon ought to consider this book as a Christmas gift. Their criticisms will likely become decidedly more restrained after they read it.

This is an interesting spin on things … their version is unreliable so ours is?

I seriously doubt the author intended to imply that the Book of Mormon or the Bible is unreliable. It’s just that Mormons don’t equate “imperfect” with “unreliable.” My father certainly wasn’t perfect but he was absolutely reliable. In the same way, Mormons view scripture as having imperfections in language; yet it is absolutely reliable.

He’d probably agree with me that the Bible isn’t inerrant, but it is able to make us wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus - - profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for instruction which is in righteousness.
