“Your Proof Has Been Approved”

Once I notify you that your proof has been approved, the book will move into a status called “Available for Distribution.” Your proof being approved does not mean the book is perfect, but it does mean that there are no major printing issues, i.e. having to do with how the ink hits the paper, how the paper is bound, etc.

It is unfortunate but true (based on experience) that at this stage, even after all our careful proofreading, we may find typos. There is a cost element to fixing them, so we do have to use some judgment as to when and how to upload new revisions. By all means, tell me about any typos immediately, and I will immediately update my local master copy of the file. When it seems we have critical mass of significant typos, I wlll upload the revision, and in a couple of weeks the new version will be the one that is distributed henceforth.

The fact that your proof has been approved means that it has been entered into a status called “Available for Distribution.”
