I have yet to read the book that responds to Dr. Erhman (right), but perhaps one might be interested in the critique of his book as well by Dillon Burroughs. I’m sure reading them together would make for a compelling “conversation” of ...
...Two days until my next book manuscript is due! I can't wait to have it in stores in February! I'll let you know more as the time approaches.
In other news, I head to Haiti Thursday (Yes, the same day the manuscript is due!) to speak at a pastor's conference and help out with other activities at Mountaintop Ministries (http://www.mountaintopministries-haiti.org/ -see the photo below for an idea of the area). The project is in cooperation with First Baptist Church in N. Terre Haute (www.fbcnth.org), the church from my college days, where I still keep in close contact. It should be an amazing experience, even if I'm emailing my book manuscript from the boarding area before we depart...
...Still MORE writing: Believe it or not, in addition to my current projects, I had the opportunity to squeeze in two short editing projects with Moody Publishing. These included updates on Living By the Book (revision Winter '07) by Howard and Bill Hendricks and the updated version of Dispensationalim by Dr. Charles Ryrie. It was a special honor to be take part on his book, as I've used his Ryrie Study Bible since the age of 19.
...Coming soon? A tour through Missouri and Texas in November? I'll keep you posted.
...Interviews. If you're connected with anyone in the media who has a say regarding interviews, please let me know as I'm hoping to schedule several in February regarding our book on the Middle East conflict and the War on Terror.
Sorry to be MIA on everyone lately. My toughest project to date is due in 16 days. However, last week offered an opportunity to catch up with my coauthor John Ankerberg as we continued work on the upcoming manuscript for our book on the Middle East conflict. Our latest title idea is still being finalized and I'll let you know more as the release nears in February.
I've also spoken a couple times this month, started a freelance project on some revisions for Living by the Book by Howard Hendricks, and am planning a mission trip to Haiti in mid-Oct. I can't wait to share some stories soon, hopefully with a new website in the near future. Stay tuned!
I value your comments at dillon@dillonburroughs.org.
I took my son Ben to Borders last night to read children's books and drink hot chocolate. When we walked in the door, the front table had a few copies of Gary Chapman's The Five Languages of Apology. I could hardly believe a book I helped edit is now on the front pages at my nearest bookstore! This is the fun part of writing.

Living By the Book, a top Moody Publishing title by Dr. Howard Hendricks and son Bill Hendricks, has influenced thousands of Christians and church leaders, creating a new need for a revised edition coming in Spring 2007.
An exciting opportunity for me came about as I have been asked to provide some editing for the project, a book that personally impacted me greatly during my first year at Dallas Seminary (www.dts.edu). The idea that I can help on a book written by one of my favorite profs, "Prof" himself, is an honor and joy. I'll let you know more as the release nears in '07.
In others news, keep me in your prayers I continue work on my coauthored book on the Middle East situation. I'm hoping for a tremendous impact on this new title with Harvest House in February 2007.
Lastly, go ahead and pre-order a copy of Dr. Gary Chapman's The Five Languages of Apology. I did the discussion guide for it and found it an insightful and highly applicable book. It comes out in September and you won't want to miss it.
